lovely asks

The Lady “M” 2.0 🙂 Found this on a tumblr blog!

Lavender: Name something that relaxes you
Playing the piano, cross stitch, painting (specifically watercolor), handwritten “thank you”/”thinking of you” cards to my dearest friends and loved ones.

Polaroid: Post a picture that makes you feel good about yourself.
I am not too fond of selfies nor do I adore flaunting an image of myself on here. I must say, though, this picture was taken four years ago. I was at the mall trying on this beautiful dress (I couldn’t afford it, but dreamt of owning it for that short amount of time) and I just felt so wonderful + I wanted to capture it! 🙂

Vinyl: What is some of your favorite music?
I love listening to Christian music, hymns, and cover songs on YouTube.

Incense: List your three favorite scents.
I don’t have a specific scent I enjoy, but I used to have this perfume from Victoria’s Secret called “Sexy Little Things Noir” and it was divine.

Roots: How do you ground yourself or recharge?
When I have a bad day, or week I usually am in a quiet place at my home and think, “what could be worse right now?” and I use scenarios of my day/week and jump back into reality. The truth is: I am richly blessed with what I already have. I, sometimes, feel like it is so easy to be negative during our trying days, but the only way to decompress is to remember “This Too Shall Pass”.

Silk Sheets: Any ways you treat or spoil yourself?
I go to Target all the time and my bank account hates me.

Paintbrushes: Do you have a creative past-time?
I really like to write poems, paraphrase Bible verses and use those words in form of cross stitch and gift them to my loved ones. Just because.

Scars: Share something difficult you’ve been through.
Absence of someone who decided to live on this earth, without you:
On the sidebar of this blog, under the title “Collective Letters” they are in chronological order (Intro to Letter V). If you have the time, please read those. It certainly has been a character development for me and I am genuinely thankful to understand and see God molding me through this experience.

Absence of a loved one who understands eternity, without you:
Hearing the news about my sisters death. That was very tough.
Note: 1 + 2

Rainstorms: What helps you fall asleep?
I rarely have problems with a restless sleep. Thankfully!

Bones: Name one strength and one weakness.
Strength: Seeing the best in people.
Weakness: Giving people more than enough chances.

Teacups: Favorite Beverages?
I love strawberry daiquiri’s, sweet wine/white wine, and Vanilla Dr. Pepper from Sonic.

Sealing Wax: Have you ever received a letter or written one from someone else?
Before moving, I had such the blessing to be a part of a Bible study and all my friends wrote the nicest words of encouragement for me on my new endeavor. 🙂

Dragons: What makes you feel powerful, what breathes life into you?
I am not powerful, but I am a person who loves the “power” of leadership or control. But that is not my focus. What breathes life in my soul is Jesus Christ. He, alone, knows my deepest wounds and also my joys. He has given me so much whereas I don’t give him enough attention as I ought. Thankful for His mercy, grace and unconditional love. Because I am a mess and I am thankful for HIM to give me breath to use my talents with the best of my ability to serve and share the good news in spite of all the bad news which have been surrounding us over and over again.

Soup: Comfort Food?
I love french fries and pringles. Unhealthy yet satisfying.

The Moon: What’s your favorite thing to do at night?
After a long day at work, I like to look at silly posts on tumblr, or cooking/baking recipes on pinterest.

Klosh: If you could go back to any three era’s what would they be?
An era where there wasn’t phones or computers (feel a tad conflicted typing that because I have a blog and some forms of social media).

-Eye to eye
-Handwritten letters
-Gathering with family without the distraction of someone’s highlight reel on facebook and/or instagram, a sports game.

I would love that, but I would also miss the immediacy the internet has come to (photos, responses) But hey, that’s a thought. Each era has its perks and setbacks.

Lace: your favorite things to wear?
Autumn/Winter season where I wear scarves, sweaters and boots! 🙂

Pocketwatch: If you could be immortal or have an extremely long life span what would you pick and why? Oh goodness. No thanks. I am going to live my life and have dignity with whatever happens.

Honeybee: Name something positive you have done for yourself or someone else in the last two weeks. Not be rude to other people, or make their life worse. Some people like to just stir the pot and start tension out of the temporary satisfaction of it. I decide to not behave that way.

Typewriter: If you had to come up with ten words to describe your life story so far, what would they be? Life isn’t predictable and learn to keep my chin up.

Blue Hair Dye: One thing you like about your appearance?
I have a perma-tan. 😛

Felines: Something that makes you feel better after a hard day?
When someone tells me “I love you” and a Hug.

Poetry: If you have one, name a favorite book or poem.

The Quiet World by Jeffrey McDaniel-
In an effort to get people to look
into each other’s eyes more,
the government has decided to allot
each person exactly one hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.
When the phone rings, I put it
to my ear without saying hello.
In the restaurant I point
at chicken noodle soup. I am
adjusting well to the new way.
Late at night, I call my long
distance lover and proudly say
I only used fifty-nine today.
I saved the rest for you.
When she doesn’t respond, I know
she’s used up all her words
so I slowly whisper I love you,
thirty-two and a third times.
After that, we just sit on the line.
and listen to each other breathe.
