Happy Father’s Day! 🙂 My older brother took this picture and I adore this photo so much. As my niece looks up at my dad smiling, so do we looking up to the heavens and God is smiling down on  us, too. There is such an impact when it comes to family when it comes to a Godly man in the household, and my dad is truly a humble man. A man who serves the Lord completely. I admire that.

There are many characteristics I admire from my Dad, but there are also characteristics I also have from my father… sin. Original sin.

Isaiah 65:1-2 says,

I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices.”

These two bible verses shows anger with a hint of gospel. These verses certainly in relation as to my father opening his arms wide, showing me love and telling me again and again that “he is here, he is here” and there are times I am angry and turn away because I am sinful.

Isaiah 65:5-6 says,

Who say, “keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am too holy for you.” Those are a smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all the day. Behold, it is written before me: “I will not keep silent, but I will repay; I will indeed repay into their lap.”

These two bible verses shows Righteous Anger. These verses, yet again, certainly in relation to my father when I show pride of a situation without understanding. The result turns into consequences from my actions.

Isaiah 65:8-9 says,

Thus says the Lord: “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and they say, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is a blessing in it.’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, and not destroy them all. I will bring forth offspring from Jacob, and from Judah possessors of my mountains; my chosen shall possess it, and my servants shall dwell there.”

Lastly, these two bible verses shows the Gospel. Although, my pride and sinful flesh is evident, my father still opens his arms and allows grace. He wants me to continue to learn and grow closer to Jesus Christ.

fathers + sons = original sin.
Father + Jesus Christ = No original sin because God is His Father.
They both equal each other.

Although my father and I are sinful, it’s certainly amazing to reflect this:
Father + Jesus Christ – my father – myself = GRACE.

Praying for all the dads out there who are single dads, dads learning to be a Godly man, a dad who has lost children, or a family. dads who are Godly men and striving to be more Godly than they were before: to grow their faith in Christ Jesus for themselves, and for their family.
