Visiting Redwoods on our Honeymoon.
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. |Colossians 2:6-7|
After having the opportunity to sit down and prayerfully pondering on what word to use: Rooted.
One of my dear friends and I were messaging each other back and forth and she exclaimed what her word was for last year before I heard the news about the passing of my aunt. After a lot of thought, the word definitely resonated with me.
This past year my three aunts on my Dad’s side passed away (May, November, December) and it took a toll for me to think about each of them and their personalities. Specifically, about their faith in the Lord. They were all so strong in their faith, serving the Lord in every way they can. They rooted their life living the way of sharing Christ’s love in their church, with their family, with their friends, etc. It was so beautiful, and what was even more beautiful is that they always wanted to be together with family. Enjoying company.
My Aunt S would have celebrated her earthly birthday today, but how rewarding that she is celebrating her eternal birth in heaven. What a special treat!
For me, this year, I am still learning about being a mother and a wife. I want to continue to actively be rooted of sharing my faith to my own family and have it ongoing in such a consistent pace. Spread my faith to my extended family, to my friendships.
The previous post I quoted was from C.S. Lewis
“Look for Christ and you will find Him and with Him everything else.”
and it definitely intertwines with the word (Rooted) I chose. I’m so thankful for the many memories and photographs I had with my aunts, I am even more thankful knowing they are in good hands and I realized I am rejoicing of death because they’re permanently separated from the chains of sin and imperfections. They are forever loved, forever in bliss with Christ.
Some day, as the Lord sees fit I will see them again, and my sister…
Rejoice in the Lord always again I say Rejoice.
