awaken gladness

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” |Hebrews 13:5|

Can I just exclaim how overwhelmed I am feeling when debt is off my shoulders? I am SO excited to announce that I am credit card debt free from Capital One!

I just cannot believe it. I cannot! I have been having these two bills since I opened them, unable to pay it back because of my poor decisions and not being responsible with my spending. Anyway, I am truly thanking God for a tax refund (y’know allowing government to withhold your money that you worked hard for interest free for a year and give it back to you. Makes PERFECT sense… 🙄)

I did close both of the cards, however, worrying about my FICO score… I need to stop hesitating and just rely on God and be content about His blessings. I do have to add that my husband and I have a credit card together, but I only use it for our groceries and gas. Personally, I don’t think credit cards are a sin. I’m not credit card “debt free” in the mindset Dave Ramsey wants, but I know it’s important to use the card responsibly, not impulsively.

Also, my little family went out today and it was so relieving and stress free to know the items I purchased today was paid in cash and in FULL. It was so relieving. Side note: It was a great 2 1/2 weeks of not spending a thing. Impressed I did “no spending” some how, some way.

One of my dentist bill is paid off too from last month from Care Credit.

My goal for the end of March is:

  • Payoff my Google Pixel 2 phone.

My goal for April is:

  • Pay off remaining doctor bill.
  • As much as I can for my 2nd dentist bill..

The only debt I will have left is my other dentist bill ($1350! Yikes) and my school loans (around $26,500! More yikes)

I truly get so stressed about all these finances because I know for a fact all that money could go to my daughter’s (and soon to be blessing) college fund, savings, investments, giving, etc.

I must say, I still have so much to learn on how to do everything and I want to teach my children and be an example to give more than receive.

Anyway, I am so excited about this and how far I’ve come from where I started before my debt free journey….
