genuine beauty

This gift (picture below) was given to me four years ago during Christmas and I am so grateful for it. I have it hanging up on my fridge as a reminder that, although, some days are very trying and challenging with the children – I keep my chin up and know I am where I need to be. God has blessed me with this talent of patience and strength for this profession.

Last week has been a very special moment for me. This blog post is a very personal one for me to share. I am proud to announce I have been working with children and adolescents who have Autism and other developmental delays for seven years. I am ecstatic! When I was first introduced to this profession I never knew how much meaning it will be for me.

Seven years later… I’m still learning.

a memorable endeavor

After a somewhat long drive, we enjoyed an evening where we were gathered together with mutual friends. Filling our hearts, minds and appetite with laughter.

The laughter kept echoing from one ear out to the other and quickly became a distant humming. There was finally silence and there was only us. Ten feet away from each other. Admiring the bonfire, the quiet noises of the bugs and the night sky.

Oh my, my, MY GOODNESS.

This dear friend of mine.. Oh how richly blessed to look back and see how God works through me and my so called schedule in life. How easily he fits people in like a glove when you need it. Every Saturday morning I committed myself to attend a women’s Bible study and be surrounded in a room filled with beautiful ladies who are wise, genuine, raw, beautiful, have such insight and perspective.

[Owing thanks, or having a duty to someone in return for help or a service.]
Happy Tuesday! November is an obvious month filled with gratitude and a popular holiday celebrating “Thanksgiving” and I decided to use Tuesdays for being “thankful” for the people I deeply care and love. 🙂

“Our creator is in our midst. He will gladly rejoice, and mightily sing while he exults over you with his quiet spirit with love.” [Zephaniah 3:17 | Paraphrased]
Happy Thursday! Today I am thankful that God is so near, He loves us with such intensity and calls us worthy. I am also thankful for talents God has given us. Those talents which gives us the ability to share our faith, and within the gifts we share they do bring pain, the joys, the laughter, the warmth, and happiness.
I couldn’t ask for anything better than to rejoice and slow dance to a comforting melody which never leaves my ears and tugs my heart with a reveling affect.

Letter Four

How illuminating it is to see rays of light in front me. They are so bright and I don’t turn away, I don’t allow them to blind me anymore. I step forward with confidence and thankfulness to finally breathe.

“A Gleam of Beauty”
Close the door!
Shut it tight.
You are mine, my darling.
The days are trying, and I am always present.
My love, you are whole to me.
And someday, you will be abundantly whole:
To a man who calls you, “my beloved, you give me light!”

wrestling separation

Some parts of a (rough draft) poem I wrote this past week…

[Written on: 6.4.2015]
“Lord, I know you are near, but I made myself become quite distant.
Casually walking backwards as far away from you…
I want to be at home again.
I want to feel the warmth rushing through my skin.
I want to have that conviction where I’ll always have a room, in your kingdom.
A security I blindly unappreciated…”

This Saturday evening, I had a lot of time to think about life and how I was a fool in the past. Due to recent events by realizing a guy should treat his gal the way she should be treated (respected, worthy, gracious) rather than him being the center of the gal’s life and she just surrounds herself to him and his needs. These characteristics begs an argument: What is the reaction when you are a girl verses the reaction when you are a woman.
